There is something incredibly freeing about realizing that you can put something down and walk away.
Sometimes we hold onto responsibilities, situations, or expectations because we believe we are supposed to see them through. We keep trying, keep carrying, and keep worrying—even when the weight of it begins to steal our peace.
Lately, I have been contemplating closure and completion, and what that looks like from a spiritual perspective.
For me, it meant handing off some paperwork that I had been carrying the responsibility of completing. Along the way, I learned something the hard way: it simply wasn’t mine to do.
And once I was able to recognize that, something shifted.
I could let it go.
There was relief in realizing that putting something down isn’t giving up. Sometimes, it is an act of self-respect. It is acknowledging that our energy is precious and that we don’t have to spend it solving problems that don’t belong to us.
Closure can open a door.
When we release what is no longer ours to carry, we create space for something new. We make room for joy, creativity, peace, connection, and experiences that actually nourish our spirit.
Maybe that is the lesson for all of us: not everything that comes into our lives is meant for us to carry forward.
Some things are lessons.
Some things are temporary chapters.
And some things simply need to be released.
As we move into this new chapter, perhaps we can ask ourselves:
What am I holding onto that no longer belongs to me?
What responsibility can I release?
And what could I make room for if I stopped carrying what was never mine?
Sometimes the most powerful completion is simply saying, “This is no longer mine,” putting it down, and choosing to walk toward something that brings us joy.
Here’s to new chapters, lighter hearts, and the freedom that comes from knowing when it’s time to let go.
Blessings,
Tammy
