Beyond the Crystal: The Spirit of Herbs and Intention

Last week, I shared my love of crystals and the beautiful energy they bring into my life. This week, I’d like to continue that journey by talking about another tool that has been calling to me in a very meaningful way—herbs.

Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate many different spiritual tools. Crystals, herbs, essential oils, candles, incense, statuary, meditation, and Reiki each have a special place in my practice. None of them are magical on their own. For me, they become meaningful through the intention, mindfulness, and love that I bring to them.

Lately, life has presented me with experiences that have encouraged me to slow down, reflect, and create. During this season of personal growth, I have discovered a deep joy in making amulets.

The process itself has become a meditation.

I begin by carefully selecting the herbs and crystals that best reflect the intention I wish to hold. Whether the focus is comfort, courage, peace, protection, clarity, or hope, each choice is made thoughtfully and with purpose. Once everything is gathered together, I hold the finished amulet in my hands and share Reiki with it, allowing the energy of compassion, healing, and loving intention to flow. Rather than seeing the amulet as something that creates change on its own, I see it as a personal reminder of the intention I’ve chosen to carry with me each day.

There is something incredibly peaceful about working with nature in this way. The scent of herbs, the beauty of a crystal, the warmth of a candle’s glow, or the gentle curl of incense smoke can all help us become more present. They remind us to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves and the Divine.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that our intentions matter. When we approach our spiritual practice with sincerity, gratitude, and an open heart, even the simplest ritual can become deeply meaningful. A handful of herbs can become a symbol of hope. A crystal can remind us to stay grounded. A candle can represent the light we continue to carry, even through life’s darkest moments.

As I continue learning and growing in this new creative path, I hope that one day I’ll be able to share these handcrafted amulets with others. My wish is that each one serves as a gentle reminder that healing begins within, and that we all possess the ability to nurture our own spirit through mindfulness, intention, and love.

Whatever spiritual tools resonate with you, remember that they are simply companions along your journey. The greatest source of healing, strength, and light has always lived within your own heart.

May your path be filled with peace, your spirit with hope, and your heart with endless blessings.

Love and Light,

Tammy
