How Sessions Work

Every session at Inner Sight Reiki & Meditation is designed with intention, gentleness, and your overall well-being in mind. Whether we meet virtually or in person, my goal is to create a space where you can relax fully, release stress, and reconnect with your inner balance.

Sessions begin with a brief conversation about how you’ve been feeling emotionally, physically, and energetically. This helps me tune in to what may need attention during your session. From there, we shift into the healing portion—whether it’s Reiki, guided meditation, or a combination of both.

Reiki itself is a soft, calming experience. You may feel warmth, tingling, lightness, or gentle waves of relaxation. Some clients become deeply peaceful or even fall asleep; others remain aware but very calm. All experiences are normal and welcome. Reiki works quietly and intuitively, offering support exactly where it is needed.

When your session is complete, we’ll take a few moments to discuss how you’re feeling, anything that surfaced, and how you can best care for yourself afterward.

What to Expect During a Reiki Session

A Reiki session is comforting, grounding, and deeply restorative. You will remain fully clothed and simply rest in a comfortable position—lying down or seated, depending on what feels best for you.

Throughout the session, I work intuitively with the energy around your body. Some clients feel physical sensations; others feel emotional release, clarity, or spaciousness; and some simply enjoy a quiet, restful pause. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki—your body and spirit guide the process.

At the end of the session, you may feel lighter, calmer, or more centered. You may also feel reflective or deeply relaxed. All responses are completely natural.

How to Prepare for Your Session

Preparing for Reiki is simple. You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to be present and receive.

Wear comfortable clothing

Soft, loose-fitting clothing helps you relax more deeply.

Hydrate before and after

Water supports energetic flow and grounding.

Set a simple intention (optional)

Examples:

“I welcome peace.”

“I allow myself to rest.”

Or simply, “I’m open.”

Give yourself a little quiet time afterward

A few minutes to breathe, stretch, journal, or rest can help the healing settle.

In-Person Sessions: What to Know

In-person sessions are held in a safe, quiet, and welcoming space designed for deep relaxation. Soft lighting, calm energy, and a peaceful atmosphere help your body settle into rest from the moment you arrive.

You don’t need to bring anything special—just yourself and the willingness to take a healing pause.

Virtual Sessions: Creating a Supportive Space

Virtual Reiki and guided meditation are just as powerful as in-person sessions, but your comfort plays an important role. To help you receive the most from your experience, I encourage you to prepare your space gently:

Choose a quiet area where interruptions are unlikely

Reduce background noise whenever possible

Turn off TVs, silence notifications, and minimize other distractions.

Let others in your home know you’ll be in session

A simple “I need 45–60 minutes of quiet time” helps protect your space.

Use headphones if you’d like

They can help you feel more immersed and grounded during the meditation portions of your session.

Make yourself physically comfortable

A chair, bed, yoga mat, or recliner—all are perfectly fine.

The intention is not perfection—it’s simply creating enough peace for your body and spirit to rest.
